There are number of ways in which the water can be classified namely potable waters, tap water &bottled waters. Nowadays the quality of water that is being sent supplied through pipes has been greatly decreased due to the increasing level of environmental pollution. Hence it is necessary to incorporate certain methods which will enable to purify the water.
Tap water
Few years ago, the water that were sent through pipes and finally obtained through taps were safe for human consumption but due to the rising level of pollution there are risks that are being possessed by this tap water. There are chances of water borne disease to strike people. These risks of diseases are even more in developing nations since the quality of water is very poor in these regions. In developed nations the tap water can still be used for human consumption since the quality of water is good enough in these regions. There is also separate water piping which are meant only for drinking water purpose.
Bottled water
At the present onset due to the degrading quality of tap water there is an increasing need for bottled water. There are also many occasions in which the bottled water becomes the inevitable choice. The bottle water consumption in US has greatly increased. It has been proved that the amount of water that is being consumed through bottled water in one year equals the amount of water that flows through Niagara Falls for two hours. This amount of water is really high and there is a great level of development that is being taking place in this industry. The bottled water can be mainly obtained by many means such as mineral water, spring water, and well water. The treatment procedures that are being utilized for this purpose includes reverse osmosis, distillation, and absolute 1 micron filtration process.
Thus the development of bottled water is of great importance for many people who are entirely dependent upon this source for obtaining high quality water. With this industry expected to grow in greater terms there are great chances that the price of these drinking water may come down to a great extent.
