My interest lies in hydroponic fodder production – sprouted grains as fodder. To your advice requirements (planting methodology, business aspects and other fodder plants) I like to add "optimal treatment of and risks associated with sprouted grain as fodder ".

I wonder whether you did get any sensible responses to your query? Care to share these with me?

I reside Botswana and own a 12hectors piece of land. I want to venture into Fodder production, i was looking at growing lablab & lucern.

Since i will be new to the business, i will require advice on the planting methodology and business aspects of the plant. Also on other Fodder plants that can be productive in our enviroment.

Fodder production can take place in hydroponic graders at a production rate of 1 ton per day. This may be great now and in the future.

It astounds me other farmers do not make use of fodder trees, on an extensive scale.

Damaged /or undamaged hedgerows can be planted up with hazel, ash, tagasaste, leucaenia , apple or fruit etc : wet boggy areas can be extensively planted to willow, for cut fodder, 10,000 trees equalling 10 000 renewable bales of feed can be planted on a average size farm without taking up any acerage space. if your not doing this and going broke, I know why !
