The radish plant is closely related to the mustard and you might also wish to know that it also provides us a lot of health benefits. This is usually used for the garnishing purposes. This is used for garnishing in salads and it gives a mild and a peppery flavor and it also has its unique color and the radish can be used more than garnishing purposes. There are many varieties of radish that are available. This red skinned radish is the most common variety and it is found abundant in North America. The plant has a compact texture and a bright color skin and has short green leaves. The oriental version of the plant is also very common which slightly has the features of the turnip and that of the white carrot. This vegetable is one of the most common vegetables and this is very much available in the grocery shops. The oriental version of the vegetable is not that common but that variety is primarily available in the specialty markets. The next big question is that how do we store the vegetable.

The storage of the vegetable is quite simple. You can refrigerate the vegetable but you must make sure that you do not keep it in the fridge for more than five days. You can put the vegetable in the plastic bag and keep it in a dry place. If you want the vegetable for your salad, then for the crispness, you have to keep the vegetable in cold water and keep it aside for nearly two hours. This vegetable is very much healthy and you can include the vegetable in your consumption as often as possible.

There provide Vitamin C and they are good source of iron, sulphur and iodine. So by consuming the vegetable you will get the necessary minerals.

Added to these minerals the vegetable is also rich in magnesium and potassium. The vegetable provides us a lot of health benefits. People with asthma problems can consume the vegetable regularly as the vegetable has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The potassium content that is found in the plant helps in the treatment of strokes and the kidney stones. This vegetable is also used in the treatment of multiple sclerosis. This vegetable not only leaves us the taste but this is also found to be very healthy and in order to have a sound body everyone should include this vegetable in their diet.
